Much of Buddha's teaching revolves around uncovering one's intrinsic compassion. Knowing that all beings share a common fabric, in fact, is one of the same is the basis of Buddhism compassion. Therefore, the suffering of others is no different metaphorically or literally from one's own pain and suffering. Therefore, the compassion arising out of Enlightenment is true and without a trace of preconditions in rendering assistance to others in need.
